Close to the wind - Hodge's peak (3256 m)

The second mountain we climb during our stay at the Sani Pass is one of the two Hodge's peak. Unfortunately, today we have less luck with the weather than it was yesterday at Thabana Ntlenyana. The sky is overcast and it blows a steady, cold wind. Thus we are glad that the road is only 6 km to the Hodge's peak.

After an hour we are on the higher of the two summits in 3256 m altitude. It blows or, rather, storms a wind that we are almost blown away! If I keep my wind jacket open, I can downright insert into the wind. Face of this not very inviting weather shall we turn, not too long on the summit and will soon be taking the way back to the lodge in attack. Pity, because the view from Hodge's peak I is very spectacular, since it is directly perpendicular to the sloping edge of the escarpment, "and is well into looks to South Africa.
