So wie bei uns der McDonald’s gibt es im südlichen Afrika in fast jeden Land die südafrikanischen Fast-Food-Ketten wie zum Beispiel den “Nando’s”. Diese Kette hat sich darauf spezialisiert, verschiedene gegrillte Pouletspeisen anzubieten. Eine dieser Pouletspeisen ist die „Chicken Pita“, eine Art Poulet-Kebab. Nun, da nicht jeder gerne gleich scharf hat, gibt es zur Auswahl „mild“, „hot“ und „extra-hot“. „Mild“ ist etwa so scharf wie ein abgestandener Schluck Wasser. Also haben wir beide schon die nächste Steigerung, das „hot“ tried. However, the "hot" so spicy that we have the feeling after a few bites to be landed in hell. Eingedeckt mit einem kühlen Getränk und einem ganzen Stapel Servietten und Erfrischungstüchlein nehme ich vorsichtig den ersten Bissen „Chickenstrips mit Reis“ in den Mund. Die ersten Bissen gehen runter wie nichts. Schon bin ich etwas enttäuscht, that perhaps "hot" actually "hotter" than "extra-hot" is. But the disappointment and joy will not last long.
